This is a Lace dye to dye SWISS FRONT LACE only. Please use it to dye other fabrics but we do not guarantee the outcome. A permanent Lace Dye that will not change colour or lift with Lace cleaning chemicals.
Once the fabric has been dyed and thoroughly rinsed it should not cause any allergic skin reactions
Comes in a pack of five colours: No 2 - Dark Brown. No 3 - Mid Red Brown. No 4 - Cool Red Brown. No 5 - Warm Terracotta. No6 Yellow. These colours can be purchased in 50g pots - see No 144.
Mix the colours to achieve desired skin colour. This is a powder to which you add water and salt to make permanent. The amounts of different shades of colour you can achieve is enormous.

These are chemical Dyes. Do not ingest or get into your eyes. The dye will stain most things it comes into contact with so please wear gloves, mop up splashes and protect your clothing. See Safety Data Sheet Below
PREPARE: Dye – gloves – tea spoon – pot, to go on cooker - a stirring stick (I use an old wooden spoon) – boiling water from kettle – liquid measure
*The basic mix is one pint of hot water, 1 level teaspoons of dye, 1 tablespoon (30gms) Salt as a fix and 1 Pint of water
From this standard mix you can change the amounts of water and dye to achieve different shades of colour. For more subtle shades add more water and less dye. You need to experiment and work out how to achieve the different colours. Use small scraps of fabric to test colour
It is the heat as well as the mordant that sets the colour. Make sure your water is hot and keep it on a gentle simmer while the dye takes…this can be anything from 1 – 3 minutes to 15 -30 minutes depending on the depth of colour you need.
Make sure the salt is dissolved before you add the dye powder.
COLOURS:
No 2 - Dark brown (Red Tones)
No 3 - Warm Mid Brown
No 4 - Dark Red Brown
No 5 - Terracotta - An orange terracotta to give you warmth
No 6 - Yellow - for yellow skin tones
I use three types of dye pots: A standard cooking pot for small pieces of fabric. A fish kettle for larger pieces of fabric.

Before you start to dye your fabric please make sure you: -
1* Wear a pair of Rubber Gloves
2* Do not get the powder or liquid Dye in your eyes/ wear protective glasses
3* Do not ingest the powder
4* Do not inhale the powder
5* Avoid contact with skin
6* Mop up splashes immediately
7* Wear a protective apron/protective clothing
8* Ensure there is adequate ventilation
9* Keep out of the reach of children

First Aid measures:
1* SKIN -Wash skin immediately with plenty of soap and water
2* EYES – Bathe the eyes with running water for 15 minutes
3* INGESTION – Do not induce vomiting. Wash out mouth with water. If conscious immediately drink half litre of water.
4* INHALATION – Remove person from exposure
